Antony Gormley has been selected for the Fourth Plinth commision.
He's calling it One and Other and it will see real members of the
public stood on plinths for 100 consecutive days, 24/7. In his words
“Through elevation onto the plinth and removal from common
ground the body becomes a metaphor, a symbol and allows us to
reflect on the diversity, vulnerability and particularity of the
individual in contemporary society.”

I say, save the bus fare to Trafalgar Square and see the same on
your local London highstreet. It's much more interactive and you
won't have to deal with any tourists or arty chin scratchers.
Location: a busy High street in West London
Owned by: Mick, locally known as "The Flowerman"

Once upon a time this city stood tall in the gardening circuit.
Grim blocks & towers were given a facelift by their residents
proud to inhabit and upkeep their limited spaced porches
with potted plants and hanging baskets. Determined to transform
their bland living quarters into something more beautiful out of
respect for their community and themselves.
.
Today the men and woman who uphold this proud tradition
are a dying breed. The kids in those blocks and towers grew
up and kicked out the plants that grew before them. You see
more residential CCTV than greenery now.
.
So when you see a city garden like the one above it represents
something special. An act of civic heroics. The type of pride and
straight-up stylish fronting that this city sometimes lacks.

Taking you back to those halcyon dayz when TV was still fresh,
and T4 wasn't even a twinklein a tv producers eye.
man, it was all peace and love back then. No shanks and gangs ,

Wimbledon BBC Promo '92
The Wimbledon Winner '92

Design wise Wimbledon '92 had a tuff look. The promo had
strong fonts and a good graphic and the eventual winner
had normal kids who didin't care about serves, volleys or
umpires buying into his style. Tech challenges were big
in playgrounds all over.
Imagine any self-respecting young rudeboy today rocking
Nike air federer's or Adidas Andy Murray's?
I spotted Stanley* outside of RAD (Royal Deaf Association) on
the Old Oak Road. He works as a Hearing Dog for his deaf owner
and was on patrol outside St Saviors, which was the first deaf
church to exist in Britain. Over 70% of hearing dogs come from
Rescue centres, and are used to help alert deaf owners to sounds
we take for granted. 2008 has been officially designated the Year
of the Assistance Dog and Stanley is very proud of this fact.

Maybe if the goodies made as much effort as the baddies
we wouldn't have as many problems.
Just look at the effort these bad dudes put into their steez.
Forget all the mean things that dickhead Mugabe does for a
second and ask yourself, would I rather wear a Che Guevera
print t-shirt or the cool as fuck colourful one with Mugabe's
mug on?

Not strictly a dog more of a hyena but a 'domesticated pet hyena'
so Blogtanian allowed it and let this guy in the blog. The picture
was taken by Pieter Hugo, a South African photogrpaher who's
Hyena Men series features in Tate Moderns current exhibit 'Street
& Studio: An urban history of photography'
Blogtanian was dissapointed to see very few dogs repped is this
exhibition. Hugo, however, gets big props for his snaps, many
of which feature my dog brothers while also saying a lot about
African society.

Yo, i'm sick of style mags and blogs with wanky looking
indie kids, nu rave rude boys and twee little girls talking
about where they got their trendy little t-shirts.
So here's the first in a new fashion format.

These two aint just hanging about, they own the joint.
You heard of shotta's, well these boys are shoppa's.
They shop more News, Wines and Videos
than a top shotta shotting crack in camden.
They even got a club for their videos. That's big!
but how does Universal Wines and Video Club rate?
Well, the sweets weren't up to scratch. Cadbury's main
playa's were in effect but not much else. Sweetboy had to
settle for a fudge without the Curly Wurly that should go
with it. what's up with that?
These two shop proprieters score big though on the booze.
Bare Brandy. It was like looking at multiple mini Moesha's
lined up for me to choose. man was in heaven.
The shop made me think of another set of brothers.
Dino and Shazam from H-Town, So i'm takin you back to 93
when penny sweet's cost a penny and banana man ice lolly's
were the summer sweet of choice.

On June 5th, 1968, just three months after the murder of
Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy was assassinated
in Los Angeles. His body was carried by train from New York
to Washington DC for burial via Train. Magnum Photographer
Paul Fusco was who was on assignment for american magazine
LOOK to document events surrounding Kennedy's assassination
was onboard the train. Fusco took about 2,000 pictures in
the eight hours it took for the trainto make the four
hour journey. way back in the days before digital.
Oddly enough these images were never printed in LOOK,
the editors decided upon a Kennedy retrospective instead.
A pity because to me they are an example of photojournalism
doing it's proper job.
In this land long ago TV wasn't a dirty word and it made
proper shows about stuff we liked with proper studio
sets and audiences that danced and originality was put
into something as small as a style segement.
I'm not sure if i watched this long ago or if i've had the
best dreams. Either way I've always had Dance Energy.
Watch out for Nefatrons Dance Energy retrospective and
more of the TV audience that danced.
